christmas popcorn.

I am so domesticated.

Like, seriously. I can pop popcorn. I am a real housewife.

Speaking of, our house has officially been Christmas-ized.

(not our real tree, just decoration)

My dad’s request: Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree… he is obsessed.

And we have Elves flying off chandeliers. I bet you really wanna come over now, right?

We are cray over here.

Absolutely cray cray.

Anyways, back to my domestic popcorn.

It’s super simple and I literally just whipped this up and snapped some pics of it.

You’ll need:

PLUS plain popcorn kernels (nothing with butter)… I got mine from Trader Joe’s. Just plain old kernels (well, not really old kernels but you know what I mean).

First, take 1/2 cup of your kernels and pop them. I popped mine on the stove over medium high heat but make sure you constantly shake around the pot or they will burn. I know from experience. ;)

Once their done, set on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.

Then, melt 3/4 cup of regular ‘ol semi-sweet chocolate chips in your microwave (or on the stovetop over a double boiler). If you do the microwave method, make sure you do it in about 20-30 second increments making sure you’re stirring it or it WILL burn. <- also know from experience… I am so experienced.

Then, add in 1-2tbsp of milk to your chocolate once it’s melted to make it smoother and more spreadable. You don’t want it to be pure liquid, but thick enough to drizzle on the popcorn.

Drizzle on the chocolate with a spoon.

Then, add 1 tbsp each of red and green sprinkles.

IMG_3864

And 2 tsp of powdered sugar sprinkled over it. <- because, hell, why not…?

Allow it to sit there until cooled.

Once cooled, put in pretty bowls and eat!

You can add so many things to this. Chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, peppermint patties, pretzels …anything. Well, except Doritos. If you do that you have a real issue.

LOL.

Perfect little snack for your guests for your next get together! (and when I say guests, I really mean yourself)
